Greetings, 
 
My name is Nancy Wooten, and in January 2010, I started my graduate studies at the University of Maryland University College's Graduate School of Management and Technology. I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Distance Education + Master's in Science Management. 
 
I am currently enrolled in my first two courses toward my degree. OMDE601 - Foundations of Distance Education, and OMDE603 - Technology in Distance Education. The creation of this wiki is a requirement in my OMDE601 course - an assignment to get us students familiar with some of the multimedia that is available to distance education students. It is my dream and goal to become a distance educator, primarily in the academic environment. 
 
I am very excited about the Distance Education program. In just a few short weeks I have realized how important distance education is to so many people. Distance education provides adults who want to pursue or continue their education an opportunity to do so. Distance education provides those individuals who are not physically or geographically capable of attending a traditional classroom environment an opportunity to do so. In addition, distance education enables individuals from all over the world to have an opportunity to obtain an education.
